Since 2003, the Elder Rights Center of Excellence has focused the energy and experience of our volunteers on serving senior victims of crime in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee counties. All services are provided free of charge.
As an Elder Rights Volunteer, you will provide important assistance by helping senior crime victims recover from the incident through advocacy, compensation claims, information on the legal process, and referrals to additional community resources. The ideal volunteer possesses a strong desire to help others recover from crime as seamlessly as possible.
You will be doing essential advocacy work such as reviewing police reports and contacting victims by telephone to let them know of a variety of options available to them. We create unique positions for our volunteers based on their skills and interests. We provide all training needed. No experience is necessary.
Our volunteers enjoy socializing with staff and fellow volunteers. You are encouraged to attend our professional development workshops, social events, and staff meetings - you are part of our ADRC community!
Please contact us if you are interested or would like more information about our program. We will invite you to come and meet with us so we can learn more about your life experiences, passions, and goals. As a new member of our Elder Rights Center of Excellence, we want to get to know you! You will also complete a brief application and a successful background screening.
We look forward to having you in our Elder Rights family!
